🐾 Why I Started Baker’s Buddies Summer Camp

Hi! If you’re a regular at the dog park, chances are you’ve met Baker — and me, his human mom. We’re there most days of the week, usually surrounded by a crew of muddy, happy pups and a whole lot of tail wags.

Over time, our little family has built this tight-knit park pack — a community of furriends who run, wrestle, sniff, and snooze in the sun together. We’ve shared treats, toys, and so many laughs with the other pet parents in our orbit. But somewhere along the way, I realized not every dog gets this kind of social experience.

Not every pup has a schedule that includes regular park visits. Not every family has the time or flexibility to commit to it. But every dog deserves joy, structure, and safe social interaction. And that’s where Baker shines.

While our beloved park pal Charlie is very much the Dog Park Mayor (he’s the big, calm Great Pyrenees who supervises the chaos like a seasoned pro), Baker’s a different kind of leader — he’s the heart of playtime. Whether he’s helping a shy pup come out of their shell or running zoomies with the regulars, Baker makes every dog feel welcome. It’s like he sees each new friend as a chance to build something special.

So I gave him a new title: Chief Play Officer. (CPO) It just fits.

That energy — that goofy, warm, friendly vibe — is what inspired me to create Baker’s Buddies Summer Camp. A space for safe, guided group play. A place where pups can build confidence, get enrichment, and just be dogs — even if their humans are working, traveling, or juggling life.

This isn’t a giant facility or a corporate pet care system. It’s just us. Me, Bake, and a few helping hands who believe in guilt-free, joyful socialization that works around your schedule. Camp days are light and structured, with enrichment activities, pupsicles, photography, and lots of sniffs and sunshine.

If you’ve ever wished your dog had more safe playtime...If you’ve ever felt a little guilty leaving them home while you run errands or take care of life...We’re here for you — and your pup.
